What is one thing you notice when you meet someone for the first time? Most people look at a persons face first, a person’s complexion can tell many stories. For this reason, maintaining a Beauty Skin Care regime promoting clean, healthy skin is paramount to self-esteem, confidence and even attitude, no matter how young or old.

Getting healthier looking skin is not necessarily based upon high-cost cosmetic products or obsessive skin care routines. * Don’t smoke. This does nasty things to your complexion, and prematurely ages your skin.
* Drink lots of water, at least 8 glasses per day.
* Get plenty of sleep, and go to bed at a reasonable hour.
* Be sure to cleanse your skin properly, morning and night.
* Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Beauty Skin Care is not only skin deep, it actually goes much deeper than that. Natural Health and Beauty has a lot to do with your diet, too. Although Beauty Products or topical creams and oils can help your skin look more radiant, the best way to glow is from within , and that means eating right. I don’t know about you but with Xmas and New Year i spend a lot of time catching up with friends and family, which means outings, holidays and weekends away. So to make things a little easier i normally have my 10 standard  Beauty Products which travel with me, as we all like to still look our best even in the silly season.

3.    A face moisturizer that suits your skin type to use morning and night.
4.    An eye cream or eye gel to keep under the eye moist and reduce puffiness.
5.    A foundation in either a cream, powder or a more natural alternative is Mineral Makeup.
6.    A bronzer, it gives you a natural glow and can be used on your neck and decolletage.
7.    A concealer to cover any little imperfections or dark circles around your eyes.
8.    A long  lasting water proof mascara.
9.    A Lip gloss, lip balm or lip stick whatever you prefer.
10.  A great fake tan or tinted moisturizer to give your whole body a healthy glow.

We all have different skin types, dry, oily, acne prone, sensitive , determining your Skin Type can often be confusing. The Effects of Stress on the Aging Process – Relax,  take a deep breath and De-Stress!

In this blog post i would like to talk about the Effects of Stress on the Aging Process.  Did  you know that stress and worry cause frowning,  and over time the muscles in your face actually conform to that movement.  How many times have you felt yourself  stressed and your face starts to scowl and wrinkle up, then your head starts to ache and before you know it you look like a crabby old woman.woman_in_stress

The Effects of Stress on the Aging Process is very simple, stress makes the body age very quickly, i don’t know about you, but i certainly do not wish to age before my time. So the answer is to  find a relaxation technique that you enjoy.  A great way to relax every part of your body from top to toe is yoga or meditation,  with a combination of breathing, stretching and  low impact movements,  it is a great way to feel good and look fabulous! In time by looking after yourself inside and out, you can start to reverse the Effects of Stress.

If  yoga or meditation is not your thing,  then just choose something  you enjoy that helps you relax.  One of my favourite ways to De-Stress is by putting on my ipod and taking my gorgeous Golden Retriever “Brandi” for a walk.  It is not only good exercise for both of us,  it gives me a chance to think and clear my mind,  plus it helps to forget about my worries,  even if it is just for a little while,  and enjoy the fresh air.  Natural Health and Beauty in time becomes a way of life and you incorporate these activities in your day to day life,  your journey begins with one single step.

I read something the other day which when you think about it makes so much sense, ” focus your energy of what you do have and don’t dwell on things you don’t have”‘.  There are many times we forget to appreciate what we do have and spend our time and energy worrying about the things we don’t have.  You have to live life to receive it.

Natural Anti Aging Solution – Change your Attitude, Change your Age!!

I must admit i get a warm fuzzy feeling when new people come into my life and guess my age several years younger. I have been blessed with good genes, my mum is 68 years old and has the skin complexion of a women in her 50′s,  but i also believe attitude and how you feel about yourself can be a great Natural Anti Aging Solution.  If you believe within and have the expectation to stay young,  healthy and gorgeous,  you probably will.

Health Benefits of Alternative Therapy

Alternative medicibeauty_health_wellbeingne, often referred to as “complementary medicine”,  includes a long list of Alternative Therapies ,  therapies such as herbalism, acupuncture, traditional chinese medicine, aromatherapy, iridology, homeopathy, and many more. The term ‘complementary’ is preferred by many practitioners because they don’t see themselves as a substitute for conventional medicine, but something that can be used alongside it.

I must admit i was probably a sceptic when it came to the Health Benefits of Alternative Therapy ,  it was’nt so much that i was a non believer in Alternative Therapy but most likely just ignorant.  I suppose until you have a need to explore other options, conventional medicine just seems to be the logical choice.  Don’t get me wrong i trust western medicine but sometimes a combination of both can produce better results.  I thought i would concentrate of two Alternative Therapies Herbalism and Acupuncture as i have experienced both.

Health Benefits of Alternative Therapy – Herbs for Healthy Skin

Everyone loves having natural beautiful clear skin,  i know if my skin is looking good, i have so much more confidence and wear little make-up.  If you do some research you will find that certain Herbs are great for general skin health and you can just incorporate them in your every day diet.  Herbs such as kelp, alfalfa and parsley have not only skin benefits but nutritional benefits as well.   Kelp is a natural source of iron and iodine, these nutrients help regulate the thyroid and helps fight germs and bacteria.  Why not use alfalfa is salads and sandwiches as it boosts the immune system due to nutrients such as calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus and sodium.  Lastly parsley is high in vitamins A, B and C so garnish away.

Health Benefits of Alternative Therapy – Acupuncture

Acupuncture is considered a holistic approach which focuses on the body as a whole, it involves the positioning of long thin needles to certain points in the body.  Regular Acupuncture treatments can give you more energy, can reduce anxiety and stress and give you a calming feeling, therefore keeping the body in good working order and less prone to sickness. Acupuncture can also be used to treat certain health conditions and eliminate or reduce the need for medication and pain killers.  I find the traditional style of Acupuncture works best for me,  it is very relaxing and i feel my Natural Health and Beauty and overall well-being has definitely improved.

So, who feels like life is all work no play.  The problem is,  how do we get the right balance?

The Health Benefits of Vitamin D may be the Answer!!

I know i feel this way at times, the best indication for me is to listen to my body, if i am feeling tired, stressed or irritable with the people around me, i know its time to take a break.  A break or time out can be many different things, my fiancee and i have just returned from an extended relaxing weekend away in Yarrawonga with family.  It was just what the doctor ordered to rejuvinate the batteries and spend quality time with the people we love.  Another one of my favorite ways  to relax is walking my dog called “Brandi”, not only are you getting some exercise, your body is absorbing the Health Benefits of Vitamin D. vitamin-d2

The main thing i noticed about the little town of Yarrawonga, was how friendly the people were,  i cannot believe the difference in peoples attitudes when the sun is out, everyone seems so much happier and pleasant, it is amazing what  the Health Benefits of Vitamin D can do.  Vitamin D is obtained from sun exposure, some foods, and vitamin supplements.   Just remember to be sun smart, the primary cause of premature aging is exposure to the sun without adequate care and protection.

I have recently taken up another time out technique which seems to be working quite well, its the “Granny Nap”.  How many times do you feel your eyes burning, you get the fuzzy’s and cannot concentrate,  i am sure the Mexican’s were onto something.  A quick power nap or just resting your eyes for a few minutes can work wonders. So my message today is to get out and enjoy some sunshine , enjoy the Health Benefits of Vitamin D and try a power nap under a shaddy tree.

Water!! Its under rated!!

How many times have we been told to drink at least 8 glasses of water per day to improve our Natural Health and Beauty and the appearance of our skin.  I know i have,   i must admit i am a bit of a water junkie,  if  i have not had my water fix  for the day i feel dehydrated and my skin looks and feels dry and dull. I believe Natural Health and Beauty starts from within with a healthy diet and by drinking lots of water.

The best part about Water is that it is free, once you get into a regular routine of drinking lots of water it then just becomes a habit.  I am lucky enough to have access to rain water, so every few weeks i just fill up my 15 litre bottles and use my water dispenser for convenience.  I also make the water very accessible, so if i am thirsty i just fill up my glass when walking past or fill up some water jugs and keep chilled water in the fridge.

I know may people will be thinking, “but water has no taste” ,  i would rather have a glass of soft drink.  Well,  let me tell you i can certainly tell who are the soft drinkers and who are the water drinkers by the appearance of their skin.  Water definitely helps the Natural Anti Aging process, it helps keep the skin hydrated and flushes out bad toxins which can lead to skin problems.water1

Just a few little water tips before i go:

Add lemon or lime to your water, on a hot day add some ice cubes, it then becomes a very refreshing and enjoyable drink.

Keep a glass or bottle of water at your desk if you work in an office like i do and sip on the water throughout the day.

Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables as they contain water too.

Start your day with a big glass of water it starts the cleansing process.

End your day by taking a glass of water to bed so you can have a sip if you wake up during the night thirsty.

Natural Health and Beauty will definitely benefit from these few simple water tips, so why not give it a try.
